CHILE, Santiago, Banco de Ahorros y Prestamos, 10 pesos, 12-3-1891, series A, binary serial 10000, PMG Choice F 15, "top pop." Pick-S115. The only other denomination issued by the private banco (see prior lot for the 20 pesos), this note is also dated to 1891 contrary to the Pick catalog's date of 1893 for the issuance. Well-circulated note with a bold design showing vignettes of Justice at left and Mercury at right, penned signatures and date a bit faded but legible, Casa de Moneda stamped seal at right, neat binary 10000 serial number printed at upper right and lower left. Only a few pinholes to note, tied with two others for finest known in the PMG census.
